ROUND-UP: Planning applications across the High Peak

Cast your eyes over the latest plans across the High Peak which have been submitted to, and approved by, the borough council.

New applications 

A number of planning applications have been submitted to High Peak Borough Council, which include: 

  • Change of use from C3(a) use of rear area of Ground Floor to E(a) use to match front area of Ground Floor; installation of external access staircase to rear of site; relocation and addition of rooflights to existing roof at 138 High Street West, Glossop 
  • Single Storey Side Extension at 4 Burrfields Road, Chapel-en-le-Frith 
  • Change of use of outbuilding to granny annexe at Woodseats Farm Cottage, Woodseats Lane, Charlesworth 
  • Timber garage at 40 Hawthorn House, Hawthorn Drive, Glossop 

Plans approved 

Plans that have been given the go ahead and granted permission by High Peak Borough Council include:

  • Change of use of agricultural building to one dwelling house at Stodhart Farm, Hayfield Road, Chapel-en-le-Frith 
  • Single storey rear extension at 3 The Risings, Godward Road, New Mills 
  • Two storey side extension and single storey rear extension at 21 Crescent Drive, Furness Vale 
  • Replacement single storey rear extension and conversion of one half of a double garage into a garden room at 1 Stoneheads Rise, Whaley Bridge 
  • Single storey side extension and single storey rear extension at 23A Dinting Road, Glossop

Street Art plans 

Plans have been put forward by Acclimatise Whaley C.I.C. for artwork to be painted on four BT cabinets. 

Owned by Openreach, the cabinets house telephone communications equipment and are currently painted green. 

Under the proposals, the group are seeking permission for colourful artwork to be painted on the cabinets located on Macclesfield Road and Buxton Road in Whaley Bridge, Jane Lane in Buxworth and A6 Buxton Road in Furness Vale. 

Separate designs featuring wildlife are proposed for each using a 15-colour palette.
