ROUND-UP: Planning applications in the High Peak

We've collated the latest plans submitted to the borough council, as well as those which have been approved and turned down.

A number of planning applications have been submitted to High Peak Borough Council, including:

  • Proposed single storey rear, double storey side and front adaptions/extensions and widened driveway with dropped kerb at 180 Simmondley Lane, Simmondley, Glossop
  • New commercial development comprising two new buildings and associated car parking at Gas Works Site, Horwich End, New Road, Whaley Bridge
  • Rear extension, two storeys in places under a pitched roof, a first-floor cantilever balcony and replacement of one garage door with masonry infill and a single window at 30 Malvern Rise, Hadfield

Plans approved

Plans that have been given the go ahead and approved by High Peak Borough Council include:

  • Proposed enclosure of existing balcony at first floor level to form habitable space at Apartment 6, 20 Toddbrook House, Whaley Lane, Whaley Bridge
  • Disabled adaptions to St Mary's Church, Chinley. East entrance to be closed and a new entrance created on the North front elevation with ramp access from disabled car park, internal alterations, disabled WC and refreshment area
  • Demolition of side garage and construction of new single storey extension to the side and rear at 3 The Grove, Hadfield, Glossop
  • Extension of lower ground room, alterations to windows and doors and new balcony balustrade at 24 Kinder Road, Hayfield
  • Proposed decking and alterations to windows at 1 Holly Bank, Whitle Road, New Mills
  • Listed building consent for conservation repair works to the existing house and a contemporary extension at 22 The Laurels, New Mills Road, Hayfield
  • Single storey rear kitchen extension at 17-21, Barber Street, Padfield, Glossop

Plans turned down

Plans for single storey rear extension and front balcony to be built at 7 Hillside, Beech Rise in Whaley Bridge have been refused by High Peak Borough Council.

The application was rejected as the balcony would be an unsympathetic development, out of keeping with the existing dwelling and harmful to the character and appearance of the street scene.

The plans are available to view on the council’s website at www.highpeak.gov.uk
