Plans refused
Plans to build a new three bedroomed property on land adjacent to 70 Surrey Street in Glossop have again been refused by High Peak Borough Council.
The original application was turned down in October and a resubmission made with some amendments.
However, the council’s planning officers have again rejected the revised proposals for a detached house with associated car parking and garden.
This is because the siting, scale, and height, of the proposed new home would result in significant harm to the residential amenity of No.70 Surrey Street, by being overbearing and oppressive, reducing outlook, and restricting natural sun light into the home.
Campsite extension approved
A campsite in Combs is to be extended after permission was granted for two fields to be used to provide pitches for 12 tents.
Located at Owlgreave Farm off Combs Road the existing camping and caravanning site already has 18 pitches.
The application prompted four letters of objection raising complaints around anti-social behaviour, dog fouling and littering. As well as highway safety.
However, planning officers in their report stated: “Whilst the campsite would increase visitors to the village it is not necessarily residents from the campsite causing antisocial behaviours/littering etc.”
