Scarecrow and carnival trails in Charlesworth

One of the scarecrows which featured in last year's trail.

This year's Charlesworth and Chisworth Carnival had to be cancelled because of the Covid-19 pandemic, but some events have still been organised which locals are being invited to take part in.

There will be a Carnival Trail and a Scarecrow competition – with the theme being "green" for those taking part.

Competition rules are scarecrows must be at least one metre tall and visible from the pavement.

Locals will then vote on the first, second and third place scarecrows.

The winners will announced on Facebook on Saturday 10 July at 2.30pm.

Stalls will be selling food and drinks on the Village Green.

The Carnival Trail will set out clues in a scavenger type hunt where people have to work out puzzles as they follow the clues around the two villages.

Find out more on the carnival's Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/CharlesworthChisworthCarnival/ or visit https://charlesworthcarnival.org.uk/#scarecrow for an entry form.
