Scout leaders from all over Glossopdale met recently to celebrate the achievements of 22 leaders.
They were recognised for their service to Scouting by helping run evenings with the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers as well as treasurers, group helpers and members of Linnet Clough Service Crew.
District Commissioner Andrew Wilson said: “It was a great evening celebrating the achievement of every adult that has received an award and a chance to say thank you to them for their commitment and hard work.”
Awards included:
Commissioner’s Commendation in recognition of exceptional continued efforts in their current role, or over the years were awarded to: Adie Hopkinson, Adrea Morgan and Libby Hinley.
Chief Scout Commendation in recognition of the very real contribution made to the Scouts were presented to: Matthew Senior, Joe Hales, Stacey Martin, Andy Bolam, Brad Hartney and Amy Harbut.
Medal of Merit Award recognising outstanding service of keen, conscientious, imaginative, and dedicated service over a sustained period were awarded to: Tim Wing, Martin Clayton, Trent Cass, Laura Cass, Claire Barber, Russ Hyde, Louise Barton, Rachel Turner, Mike Parker and Angela Dyson.
Silver Acorn Award recognition of specially distinguished and outstanding service to Scouting were presented to: Gary Banton, Zoe Brierley and Stephen Rhodes.
