Have you ever wanted to sing with a group? As part of New Mills Festival, in just one day a group of singers are going to work together before performing what they have learnt.
Open to complete beginners, the scratch choir will be led by award-winning conductor Hannah Brine and the Hallé’s Stuart Overington.
It provides the opportunity to sing with others in harmony and will be taught a variety of pop, folk, gospel and choral pieces using a combination of sheet music, lyrics and teaching by ear.
Hannah said: “This will be a fun day of group singing. The performance at the end will be a very informal sharing.
“This is the first time we have been part of the New Mills festival and are looking forward to adding group singing to the programme of events.”
Th event takes place on Saturday 24 September from 10am to 6pm at Spring Bank Arts Centre in New Mills.
Tickets are £20 for singers, free for the audience for the informal performance.
