Twenty drivers will be written to by police after being caught speeding on a busy road in Charlesworth.
The Charlesworth Community Speed Watch Team were on Long Lane on Tuesday afternoon (3 August) between 3pm and 4pm.
The speed limit on that stretch of road is 30 miles per hour.
In the space of an hour, 572 vehicles passed the team in both directions.
Of these, 20 were recorded driving at a speed in excess of 36 mph.
Glossop Police Safer Neighbourhood Team say the owners or registered keepers of those vehicles will receive letters of advice about their speeding.
They also thanked the three volunteers for taking the time to carry out the Speed Watch event.
