Spring Bank Arts to hold two fascinating events

Tickets are now available for two events being held at Spring Bank Arts in New Mills in February.

The Roth Guitar Duo will perform an eclectic mix of music from around the world, composed and arranged for two guitars, on Sunday 12th February at 2.30pm, doors open at 2pm.

The duo formed through a shared love of chamber music in 2014, whilst studying at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester and have played at venues and festivals throughout the UK.

The concert will include compositions from Maximo Diego Pujol, Ferdinando Carulli, Yvonne Bloor and more. Tickets are £10 and include tea and cake served after the performance.

Tickets are available from Spring Bank Arts Mon to Fri 9:30-12:30 01663 308202, on the door and online https://www.wegottickets.com/event/564948

On Friday 24 February, actor Neil Gore will be performing his one man show the Ragged Trousered Philanthropists.

In association with Live & Local, Neil will bring this humorous and absorbing book to life in his one-man magic lantern show.

Based on the 1914 novel by Robert Tressell, its story is set in the building trades of Edwardian England where painters and decorators struggle to maintain themselves and their families, while renovating a large townhouse for the local mayor.

With projected animation, conjuring tricks, live music and song, there's something for all the family, not least the chance to become acquainted with this timeless story of socialism and political awakening.

Doors and bar open at 7pm. Tickets are £12 and available from Spring Bank Arts Mon to Fri 9:30-12:30 01663 308202 on the door and online https://www.wegottickets.com/event/564836
