One resident has described how the tornado 'came out of nowhere'.
Sean, from Millbrook, said: I was sat watching TV at 11pm, then, all of a sudden, the windows started getting absolutely pelted with hail but it started getting heavier and heavier.
"In the back garden furniture was flying around and the next door neighbour's gazebo took off.
"Roof panels came past us. But five minutes later, it really hit.
"You couldn't see a thing. The tree out front fell over and is still blocking the road this morning. The neighbour has a hole in their roof.
"We've lost part of our outhouse roof. And all the tiles on the roof have completely gone along with fence panels and everything you can think of.
"plants were flying around the garden at one stage and the garden furniture was absolutely demolished as well.
"It started and finished in five to ten minutes. It came out of nowhere. We had a bit of wind through the day and rain, but we are used to that in the UK, but within five to ten minutes, it was absolute chaos. Then, everything was back to normal.
"It was just a smash out of nowhere."
"People were scared that it might come back last night.
"Some of these trees have been here for 100 years but they were uprooted like matchsticks.
"I hope everything can be tidied up and made safe.
"It' something we don't want to see again. It' not the best start to the New Year."
