Stepping back in time in Old Glossop

Video Player

Old Glossop’s population practically doubled last Sunday as the village held its annual Victorian Christmas Market.

With part of the ‘main street’ closed to traffic, huge crowds walked through an avenue of stalls where the smell of mulled wine was always in the air.

Glossop Mountain Rescue Team and Glossop firefighters came with their vehicles packed with equipment to show to young visitors.

Traditional Christmas music drew people to the Old Cross where Dark Peak Music played, Glossop and District Choral Society and local school children sang and Milltown Cloggies danced and, of course, there was Father Christmas.
