A luxury car which was stolen in the High Peak will be returned to its owner thanks to the help of technology.

A highly valued Mercedes C300 was stolen in Buxton but officers from the High Peak used ANPR (automatic number plate recognition) technology to help recover it a few days later.

The vehicle was located by officers abandoned in Glossop and is now recovered for forensic work.

Glossop Police Safer Neighbourhood Team say the victim has been contacted and he was delighted to have his vehicle back and thanked Derbyshire Constabulary.
