Police have issued a further warning to would-be partygoers after fining 10 people for attending a house party in the High Peak.
The fines were given out on Saturday 23 January, but were only revealed by Derbyshire Constabulary on Saturday (30 January).
Ten people were fined at a house in Chapel-en-le-Frith - eight of which were under the age of 18, so their parents or guardians have been fined £200 on their behalf.
On the same day, officers also handed out £200 fines to six people, all in their 20s, who were having a party in Alfreton.
It comes on the back of police handing out 16 fines to those who attended a party in Eckington, in North East Derbyshire, on 16 January.
One of the senior officers in charge of the force's response to Covid-19 is strongly urging everyone to "think long and hard" about their actions and to follow the lockdown rules to help stop the spread of the virus.
Inspector Nick Booth said: “It gives myself and my colleagues no pleasure handing out these fines. However, everyone is well aware of the current restrictions and the vast majority of people are abiding by them.
“I am keenly aware of just how difficult it is not seeing friends and family for such an extended period of time – but now is not the time to be behaving in such a way.
“While the vaccine is being rolled out and infection rates are dropping – this is only happening because people are abiding by the rules and helping reduce the pressure on our colleagues in the NHS.
“This week we passed the tragic figure of 100,000 deaths during this pandemic and I would urge everyone to think long and hard about their actions if they are thinking about attending a gathering this weekend and the consequences that your actions could have.”
