Battle lines are being drawn over plans for a new McDonald's restaurant with a drive-thru to be built in Glossop.
Anyone wanting to comment on the controversial application submitted to High Peak Borough Council have until Wednesday 16 February.
Hundreds of people have already responded to the proposals that, if approved, would see the former Wrens Nest pub site off Glossop Brook Road redeveloped.
Those in support of the plans say it would bring a derelict site back in to use, create local jobs and represent a significant investment in the local area.
In total, the new restaurant and drive thru would create 65 jobs, with 30 full-time and 35 part-time roles.
However, objections have been raised by others concerned the development could cause even more traffic problems on High Street West and create further congestion.
They also highlight the potential negative impact on local businesses and the environment.
Comments can be made and the plans can be viewed on the council’s website at www.highpeak.gov.uk
