The Puppy Nanny launches tricks for treat event around Glossop

Halloween is still a few weeks away but Nicola, the puppy nanny is already planning the annual Tricks for Treats event.

This will be the third year of the event and every year it has been a hit for dogs and their owners.

For the whole of the month of October, dog friendly shops in and around Glossop will get involved by displaying ‘Tricks for Treats’ posters in their windows. If you spot the poster, that means that it’s a dog-friendly business and you can pop in, show the staff your dog's favourite trick, and they will give you a doggy treat!

Nicola commented: “My main aim for the Tricks for Treats event is to raise awareness for all of our fantastic dog-friendly businesses in the area, to get owners and their dogs out and about supporting these businesses, to encourage doggy socialisation by taking them to new places, and to plan fun walks and outings for you and your dogs!

Every year I am open to new businesses joining in, all you need to do is let me know and I’ll call in with a poster for you, you just supply the dog treats.”

So far, taking part is:

1. Hartleys Garden Centre on Cemetery Road

2. Canella on High Street West

3. Fox Pet Stores on High Street West

4. Shepleys Café on Shepley Street in Old Glossop

5. Sett Valley Café at Birch Vale

6. Pixie Bakes in Tintwistle

7. KIN.DER on Arundel Street in Glossop.
