Final preparations are under way for Tintwistle Children's Gala, which is being held later this month.
Organisers have issued a rallying call saying, "let’s turn Tintwistle into a carnival village."
The event takes place on Saturday 26 June, but in the run-up to the gala, there will be prizes for the best dressed house and garden.
There has also been a competition for children to design a tote bag with the theme of “lockdown is over”.
On the day itself, there will be a parade of Disney characters, which anyone wearing fancy dress can join.
Anyone who wants to take part should congregate on the Conduit Street park at 12.30pm. Entries for the fancy dress competition must assemble there by 12.45pm.
The parade, featuring Arnfield Brass Band, will then walk along Conduit Street and West Drive to the football fields where the gala is being held.
On the field itself, there will be food and drink available alongside a number of stalls, including face painting, tombolas and a raffle.
A dog show will take place at 2.45pm, with categories including ‘waggiest tail’ and the ‘dog who looks most like its owner’.
The fun continues until 5pm.
If anyone wants to take part in the best dressed house and garden competition, they should email their details to jillcrossland@outlook.com
