Tintwistle land substantial funding from FA

Tintwistle Athletic has been awarded a grant from The FA’s Stay in the Game scheme to help aid the club’s retention of its adult male players, giving them the financial support to cover the costs incurred by grassroots clubs.

The Stay in the Game scheme is funded by The FA and delivered by the Football Foundation, with grants of £750 awarded to existing clubs in order to boost financial sustainability and allow clubs to continue offering playing opportunities in organised football.

The grants can be used towards matchday and training facility hire and league affiliation costs as well as covering match day subs for individuals that aren’t able to afford their regular match fees.

Barry Lawson, manager of Tintwistle Athletic 1st team and UEFA B coach said: I am delighted that the FA are providing funding, delivered by the football foundation to help clubs retain their adult section while promoting opportunities for youth players to stay in the game. We have an excellent coaching squad at the club and invite new players interested in joining our open age section to email me directly on barrylawson24@yahoo.com or my assistant Dave on mcgreal1967@yahoo.com

Our open age teams play in the Manchester football league ltd. Tintwistle Athletic also has 20 junior teams.
