'Tricks for Treats' trail around Glossop

If kids can go trick or treating, why can’t dogs?

Halloween is just around the corner and it would be a crime for your canine companion to miss out on the festive happenings.

Puppy training expert, Nicola Davies, is hosting a ‘Tricks for Treats’ trail with an array of local dog friendly businesses throughout Glossop.

Between Monday October 31 and Sunday November 6, pet parents can take their pooches into selected shops across Glossop to do a trick in return for a little something for their treat bag.

All of the businesses involved are situated near beautiful walks so these can be combined and incorporated into the trail! So far, a few on the list include: Pixie Bakes, Hartley’s Garden Centre, Dukes Café Bar, KIN.DER, Panaderia Blue, Glossop Wholefoods, Fox Pet Stores and Shepley’s Café. Nicola encouraged any other Glossop-based businesses that would like to get involved to reach out to her, emphasizing ‘the more the merrier’.

The choice is yours whether you bring your canines costume-clad or just as they are! Nicola’s aim is for the event to be fun not stressful for them so dressing up is not a necessity at all. And kids are very welcome to go along as well & get dressed up if they wish.

The event is open to everyone, there’s no need to book on! Simply turn up and follow the trail at whatever time best suits your weekly schedule.

However, if you’d prefer to do the walk within a group setting with someone to help and supervise then head over to ‘The Puppy Nanny’ website or email nicola@thepuppynanny.co.uk to book onto an organised walk that Nicola has arranged to compliment the trail. She will continue to update her Facebook page as well, with details leading up to the week, so keep an eye out for those.
