Two High Peak towns are among those which have seen the biggest increase in high street footfall in the last three years.
According to a study, suburban and small town centres such as Glossop and Buxton have seen an unexpected rise in popularity over from 2019-2022.
Buxton’s activity has increased by 26% whilst Glossop’s activity has amplified by 33%.

However, as the high street’s popularity is ever growing, this has caused a significant downfall in footfall in city centres especially due to the prices of public transport which continues to skyrocket, encouraging more people to stay local.
