Over the weekend, members of Edale Mountain Rescue team went to the aid of two walkers - one of which had fallen and knocked themselves out.
On Sunday evening (1 August), a walker, out bilberry picking with their family on Winn Hill, took a fall whilst negotiating a stile hitting their head and losing consciousness for a few seconds.
Fortunately, members of the team were at base sorting out equipment when the call came and were able to respond quickly to the incident.
The casualty was then checked out by one of the team's paramedics, before being stretchered to the roadside and taken to Sheffield Northern General Hospital.
On Saturday, both Edale and Buxton Teams were called to aid a walker who had taken a tumble while walking above Speedwell Cavern in Castleton.
The walker had sustained a painful ankle injury and after pain relief was given was placed on a stretcher. Due to the steepness of the hillside, the stretcher was used to sledge the casualty down to the car park from where they were taken to hospital
The Edale team has responded to 92 callouts so far this year.
