Patients across Glossopdale are being advised that seasonal flu vaccinations will be administered at their registered GP practice this year.
Vaccinations have been ordered and allocated to all eligible patients, who will be contacted by their surgery. Clinics will also be posted on each surgery's social media platforms when they are planned.
This relates to the following surgeries: Manor House Glossop, Manor House Hadfield, Lambgates Health Centre, Simmondley Medical Centre, Howard Medical Centre and Cottage Lane Surgery in Gamesley.
Glossop Health Team will only be completing flu jabs at care homes and the homes of residents who are housebound. These are in the process of being planned.
Healthy 50 to 64 year olds will be invited by their GP practices to receive a flu jab from October.
As NHS England announced earlier this summer, the following people are also set to be offered a Covid booster vaccine over autumn and winter:
- health and social care staff
- everyone aged 50 and over
- carers who are over the age of 16
- people over five whose health puts them at greater risk, this includes pregnant women
- people over five who share a house with somebody with a weakened immune system
Glossop Health Team say they are working on dates for clinics to administer these and they will be made available on 5 September.
