Glossop-based veterinary clinic Victoria Vets is hosting its annual Christmas appeal in the hopes of ensuring no pet will go hungry or without a toy this holiday season.
The appeal has been running for 24 years, and each year the team at Victoria Vets ask for donations such as food for cats, dogs, rabbits and guinea pigs, and toys for charities like the Dove Cat Sanctuary in Chapel and Glossop Pet Food Bank.
Any donation is welcome, Jill who is in charge of the appeal told us. "Anyone can come in and put the donations under our tree in reception and we will make sure it gets donated," she said.
She added, "It's dear to our hearts because we've all got cats, dogs, guinea pigs that we love."
With the ever rising cost of household bills, Jill also said, "Lots of people are struggling to feed their pets and what we don’t want is for people to have to give their dogs away, so the more we can help people keep their dogs in their families, we will always do that."
To donate, simply pop into Victoria Vets on Victoria Street in Glossop. The appeal is running up until Christmas and every donation, whether large or small, is welcome.
Regarding its Christmas hours, Victoria Vets will be open as usual apart from Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.
