Another community speed watch event has been held on a busy road in Charlesworth.

The Hadfield Volunteer Community Speed Watch Team were on Long Lane on Monday afternoon (3 July) from 3pm to 4pm.

A total of 712 vehicles went by the team and, of those, four were recorded driving at a speed more than the 30 miles per hour limit.

The owners or registered keepers will now receive letters of advice about their speeding.

Glossop Police Safer Neighbourhood Team said: "Speed Watch is a community-based, education-centred scheme that helps ordinary people make a significant contribution to improving the safety of our roads.

"Thank you to the three volunteers who completed the event, who without their help this event could not have been completed.

"The team ask that those who drive in our area respect the speed limit - slow down and stay safe."
