Vote now for your healthcare heroes

PAST WINNERS: Zara Lamb, Tracey Westhead and Joanne Adams with Chief Exec Karen James.

The search is on to find those healthcare workers who have gone the extra mile in the 2022 Who's Your Hero Awards.

Nominations are now open for members of the public and staff to propose worthy individuals who work at Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS FT and who deliver outstanding care and support to patients and colleagues.

The awards are decided by a panel of judges who meet quarterly to agree worthy recipients.

Recent 2021 winners include Zara Lamb and Tracey Westhead (pictured above left) from the Trust’s Orthopaedic Unit.

The nomination, made from their team, said Zara and Tracey demonstrated genuine compassion towards the patients they care for.

Both went out of their way to ensure patients had little comforts whilst under the care of the Trust, and when discharged home to continue their recovery.

This included buying newspa- pers and bringing in puzzles and making sure one patient was discharged with a pint of milk and a loaf of bread in their bag for when they arrived home.

Joanne Adams from the Booking Team, and pictured above with Chief Executive Karen James OBE, was nominated by a patient’s family member for her kindness and patience.

If you know someone - or a team of health workers - truly deserving of one of these prestigious awards then go to the Trust’s website www.tamesideandglossopicft.nhs.uk/staffawards
