Glossop welcomed 11 former evacuees from Lowestoft for a three-day stay.
The group, who were evacuated to Glossop during WWII, were accompanied by Chris Brooks, Secretary of the Lowestoft Evacuation Committee, and his wife Janet.
They were given a warm welcome on arrival at Glossop Station by Sheila Webster, who helps to organise the local itinerary.
This year marks 79 years since 600 child evacuees arrived by train from Lowestoft, with all finding homes in Glossopdale.
During the trip, the group met friends from the past and visited local places of significance, including a visit to the station where Neil Williams of Friends of Glossop Station greeted them alongside councillors Jean and George Wharmby.
They saw the special display board designed by Paul Marsh commemorating the Evacuation, which is replicated in the booking hall at Lowestoft station. The rest of the visit included a visit to Whitfield Church where evacuees Margaret Ellis and Rita Walpole used to attend 70 years ago.
Special plans are in hand in both Lowestoft and Glossop Station to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Evacuation next year.
