Residents are being warned that surface dressing works will be taking place along Glossop Road in Gamesley on Tuesday 31 May.
The work will be from 9.30am to 3.30pm between the junction at the A57 and the junction of Town Lane in Charlesworth.
Carried out by Kier on behalf of Derbyshire County Council, it will be subject to the weather.
The work will be completed by using stop and go boards - rather than a full closure as was initially announced - but delays are still likely.
