A six-week consultation has opened into the Whaley Bridge Neighbourhood Plan.
This is the latest stage in the process and is needed so that High Peak Borough Council can ensure the Basic Conditions have been met.
A spokesperson for Vision4Whaley, who have been developing the plan, said: “It has been a long journey, but we are now in the final stages and thank you very much for helping get to this point.”
The Plan can be viewed, along with supporting documents, on the High Peak Borough Council website at https://www.highpeak.gov.uk/article/660/Whaley-Bridge-and-Furness-Vale-Neighbourhood-area
A printed version can be found at Buxton Town Hall, the Mechanics Institute in Whaley Bridge, Horwich End Post Office, and Furness Vale Community Centre.
Comments on the plan can be made until Thursday 22 June.
Following the consultation, an independent examination will be held. When the examiner's report is completed, the borough council is then required to make a decision on the plan proposal and issue a decision statement.
If all goes to plan, then the final stage will be the referendum when local people will have the opportunity to vote.
