Commercial development rejected
An application for a new commercial development on Whaley Bridge had been turned down.
The proposals for land off New Road were for two building and associated car parking were rejected High Peak Borough Council.
Planners refused the application as there was insufficient information submitted to show the plans would not lead to an increased use of New Road and the access junction from Buxton Road.
Insufficient information had been submitted to demonstrate that the development would not pose a risk of flooding elsewhere and it was also found the buildings would be too close to the Randall Carr Brook.
Solar farm
A development of solar panels could be built in the High Peak.
An application has been submitted to look at options for screening a solar farm on two areas of farmland off Dolly Lane in Buxworth.
A third of the land identified in the plans would be covered by solar arrays.
The plans are available to view on the council’s website at www.highpeak.gov.uk
