Where to get a Covid-19 test from in Glossopdale

People working and living in Glossopdale are continuing to be urged to get tested regularly for Covid-19.

Mobile testing sites are again available this week across Glossopdale for people to get a PCR test - that is sent to a laboratory for analysis.

On Tuesday 31 August and Wednesday 1 September, it's based at the car park at the Geoffrey Allen Centre on Winster Mews in Gamesley from 9am to 5pm.

On Thursday 2 and Friday 3 September, it's at the Redgra area on Fauvel Road in Glossop from 9am to 5pm.

Then on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 September, it's at Glossopdale School on Newshaw Lane in Hadfield from 9am to 3pm.

People should book a slot online before attending any of the sites at https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test

Everyone is welcome, with residents being encouraged to continue to get tested twice a week whether they have symptoms or not.

Done by taking a swab of the throat and nose, the PCR test is the most reliable test for Covid-19. Children under 11 should be helped by an adult.

Results are usually returned within one to two days and help to keep track of cases, including new variants of Covid-19.
