Youngsters at Hadfield Nursery School had a special visitor recently, who wanted to thank them for their incredible fundraising efforts.
Woody the Willow Wood Mascot Bear paid a visit to the Queen Street nursery to say thank you to the children, who managed to raise a fantastic £3,269.10 for the hospice.
The hospice provides specialist palliative care for patients in Tameside and Glossop with life limiting illnesses, both cancer and non-cancer diagnosis.
The children completed 100 laps of the nursery garden, did 100 star jumps and created 100 flowers to decorate a photograph of Captain Sir Tom Moore as part of a challenge in memory of the national treasure, who died earlier this year at the age of 100 after last year raising millions of pounds for the NHS after initially walking 100 laps of his garden.
Hadfield Nursery School said on its Facebook page: "Woody was so excited to see our huge cheque for £3269.10 that he waved his arms and did a little dance for us! Thank you so much to all our families for their support. We are very grateful."
