Part of Roughfields in Hadfield was turned into a colourful yarn bombing last weekend.
There was a teapot and plate of knitted biscuits and a cup of tea on one picnic bench, along with a nest of baby owls on another.
It was part of the campaign to prevent the green area between Hadfield and Padfield Main Road being developed for housing.
A free Peak Active Sports event ran alongside the yarn bombing on Saturday (11 June), which also featured a patchwork quilt with the slogan “Where will our children play?”
Halina Billingham, founder of the Save Roughfields campaign told us: "The high turnout of children for the PAS sports activities along with a generally high number of visitors shows exactly how much Roughfields is used on a day to day basis.
"Spaces such as Roughfields play such an important part in provided us with a place to rest and relax and have fun, exercise our dogs, let the children blow off steam after a day at school let alone all the wild creatures that live here all year round.”
