
Customers planning to use services in Greater Manchester over the Easter weekend have been warned to check before they travel as there will be some disruption.
Trains will run on Easter Sunday and the bank holidays, but some routes have reduced services, with a few closed completely.
There will be no train services running to, from or through Stockport due to engineering works on Saturday, April 19, Sunday, April 20 and Monday, April 21.
Northern will run rail replacement services for customers travelling on the following routes:
Manchester Piccadilly and Stockport/Hazel Grove (fast and stopping)
Stockport and Stoke-on-Trent (fast and stopping)
Stockport and Altrincham (Saturday and Monday only)
Manchester Piccadilly, Stockport, Altrincham and Chester (Sunday only)
Stockport and Wilmslow (fast and stopping)
Wilmslow, Macclesfield and Stoke-on-Trent (fast).
Avanti, CrossCountry, EMR, TransPennine Express and Transport for Wales train services will also be impacted by this work.
Tickets bought for journeys through Stockport will be accepted on other rail services running between Manchester Piccadilly, Heald Green and Wilmslow.
Customers with a valid railway ticket can use it on certain Bee Network services during line closure.
The following services will be affected by engineering works between Manchester Victoria and Salford Crescent on Sunday, April 20:
Leeds - Manchester Victoria - Chester services will run between Leeds and Manchester Victoria only. Trains will call additionally at intermediate stations between Todmorden and Manchester Victoria. You can use Transport for Wales services Manchester Piccadilly and Chester via Earlestown at no extra cost
Manchester Oxford Road - Southport services will run to a reduced timetable.
Manchester Victoria - Clitheroe services will run to a reduced train service between Bolton – Blackburn and buses will run between Blackburn – Clitheroe.
Manchester - Wigan Wallgate via Bolton services will be diverted and will not call at Salford Crescent. Buses will run between Bolton and Wigan.
Customers can use TransPennine Express services between Manchester Piccadilly and Stalybridge, and local bus services between Manchester and Salford Crescent, at no extra cost.
Engineering works are also due to affect services running between Manchester Victoria and Leeds from Saturday, April 19 to Monday, April 21.
Trains running via Dewsbury will be diverted via Bradford Interchange and Halifax, and will not call at Cottingley, Morley, Batley, Dewsbury, Mirfield and Brighouse.
