Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has completed the sale of the free house, The Squire Knott, in Oldham.
The Squire Knott, which is sited less than five minutes from Oldham’s pedestrianised retail area and the Oldham Coliseum Theatre, was formerly part of Wetherspoon’s estate.
It has subsequently been operated under management, accommodating up to 200 covers within the split level open plan lounge and public bar.
Previous owner, John Dixon, who owns and operates several hospitality venues throughout Lancashire and Greater Manchester, sought the sale after two years of ownership in order to focus on the remainder of his portfolio.
John said: “I would like to thank Keith and Christie & Co for helping secure and completing on my sale in these unprecedented times. I have dealt with Keith Stringer for the past eight/nine years and he has always been a delight.”
Keith Stringer, Director at Christie & Co, handled the sale and said: “We’re happy to have found a new owner and to have assisted John with his rationalisation plans.
“Transactions such as this demonstrate that, as existing operators move on, there remains a healthy appetite for attractively priced licensed properties in key town centre locations.”
The business was sold on a freehold basis, with an asking price of £375,000.
