A former member of the RAF has been charged with attempted murder after a shooting on a main road last week.
Ethan Glasgow-Lattibeaudiere, 23, from Oldham but of no fixed abode, has been charged with two counts of attempted murder, a section 18 assault and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
Glasgow-Lattibeaudiere, who was also a talented junior athlete, was remanded ahead of an appearance at Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court earlier today (Wednesday January 22).
Firearms experts are analysing a gun recovered by police.
Detective Chief Inspector Charlotte Whalley from GMP’s Major Incident Team said: “Our investigation has been meticulous since the incident happened on Thursday, which has now led to us charging one of the eight males we arrested over the weekend.
“Whilst most firearms incidents are targeted and do not pose a threat to the wider public, we know the fear and anxiety these incidents cause amongst our communities.
“We have seized at total of 304 firearms since 2021, underlining our ongoing commitment to rid the streets of these weapons, ensuring those who live and work in Greater Manchester feel safe.”
An 18-year-old man, a 19-year-old man, a man in his 20s, one in his forties and three under-18s who were all arrested have been released on bail.
Meanwhile, the 18-year-old victim remains in a stable condition in hospital after receiving 'serious injuries'.
