A cannabis dealer from Mossley is behind bars after being found guilty of supplying drugs with five other men.
30-year-old Taylor Inman was jailed for a year as part of a six-man drugs, counterfeit money and firearms gang snared by two investigations around Oldham.
Police raided Inman’s home on Staley Road in January this year, where they found drugs, cash, multiple mobile phones and two Rolex watches that were seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act.
The group were imprisoned for a total of 20 years, with Janade Parvez, 27, of Oldham sentenced to nine year and nine months after pleading guilty to supplying heroin, crack cocaine and cannabis, as well as having a Colt semi-automatic pistol among a stash of weapons.
Another Oldham man, Brian Threadgale, 37, received a five-year prison term, while 31-year-old Russell Bryan of Harpurhey will serve two years and three months.
Liverpool-based Warren Ali, 38, was jailed for three years on drug and criminal property offences, while the final member of the gang - who has not been named - was handed a conditional discharge.
“Both of these investigations were complex, with many moving parts,” said a joint statement from Detective Constables Alex Brown and Michelle Lomax.
"Today’s results have only reinforced our mission of identifying, locating and charging those individuals who are involved in drugs and organised crime. The illegal drug market impacts communities across Greater Manchester and is responsible for a large amount of organised crime across our area.
“This then leads to a number of other crimes, including violence, anti-social behaviour, and criminal exploitation. It also harms people’s health and wider society.
“As a force, we have launched the region’s first multi-agency drugs strategy which looks to build on the success we are experiencing in targeting, disrupting, and dismantling drugs gangs who thrive off the vulnerability of others.
“We have also made great strides in tackling firearms on the streets of Manchester over the last few years, and in the last three years alone we have confiscated 252 illegal firearms and have put organised crime members in prison to serve sentences of almost 500 years.”
