
A man was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a car crashed into a roundabout in Shaw in the early hours of the morning.
Emergency services were called to reports of a road traffic collision at the Big Lamp Roundabout at around 3am on Sunday morning (22 January).
The driver and passenger of the vehicle fled from the scene.
Greater Manchester Police say a vehicle was travelling in a northerly direction along Oldham Road towards the roundabout, before it collided with the roundabout and came to a rest in the carriageway.
One man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving and another man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries, a GMP spokesperson has confirmed.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident - or might have footage or dashcam footage - to come forward by calling 0161 865 4741, quoting incident number 461 of 22/01/2023.
