A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following an horrific incident in Oldham last night.
Officers responded to reports of a fight on Broadway, Chadderton, close to the Elk Mill roundabout at around 6.40pm.
It is believed that the drivers of two vehicles had an altercation close to the roundabout, before one of the drivers got back into his vehicle and struck the other man with it.
Sadly, despite the best efforts of emergency services, he died at the scene. The family of the man, who was aged 50, are being supported by specialist officers at this time.
The suspect, aged 32, left the area and later handed himself into police, where he was arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody for questioning.
The investigation is now being run by the Major Incident Team and enquiries are ongoing.
As their work continues, officers are appealing for information and anyone who may have witnessed last night’s events.
This includes anyone with any dashcam, CCTV, or mobile phone footage from the area at the time of the incident.
