A man has been charged with the murder of another man, who has now been named, in Oldham town centre last weekend.
Paulo Da Silva was stabbed multiple times, including in the chest, after an altercation on Union Street at around 4.20am on Saturday 28 May.
The emergency services attended the scene and the 48-year-old was taken to hospital in a critical condition, but he died on arrival.
His family have been informed, Greater Manchester Police have said.
After arresting one man in his 30s then eliminating him from the investigation, detectives arrested another man in the Ipswich area of Suffolk in the early hours of Sunday.
The man, from Rochdale, was brought back to Greater Manchester to be interviewed.
Now Rudi Cardoso, of Alma Street, has since been charged with one count of murder.
Cardoso is still in custody and he is set to appear at Manchester Magistrates' Court today (Wednesday).
