Avro have confirmed the signing of striker Mike Norton ahead of the 2019/20 season in the North West Counties Premier Division.
Norton arrived at the club last summer with a wealth of experience in the higher echelons of the non-league pyramid, having become something at a legend at Curzon Ashton before equalling that status during his period at FC United of Manchester.
North played an integral part in Avro's promotion last season, not only chipping in with a number of goals but leading the squad in a captaincy role during a number of games.
His renewed contract will see him act as a player/coach, helping out in the dugout with joint-managers James Hampson and Lee O'Brien.
Norton's signing is a signal of intent for the club, who, having enjoyed back-to-back promotions, are now looking to continue that trend and move their way into the Evo-Stik League.
Of the signing, Hampson said: "We're delighted that Norts has agreed to one more year, and also share his vast experience of the game in a player/coach capacity with the squad. Mike has been an incredible signing for us, helping to move us on to the next level."
