A 28-year-old man from Oldham has been charged with raping a woman in Ashton.
Amir Sultani, of Villa Road, has been remanded in custody and will appear at Tameside Magistrates' Court on Monday (4 October).
It relates to a report that police received on Saturday 11 September that, after leaving a pub on Old Street in Ashton, a woman was approached by a man.
He escorted her to a vehicle and she was subsequently raped.
Police say the woman is being supported by specially trained officers and detectives are investigating the case.
