Police want to speak to this man after an elderly woman became stuck in between tram doors and later died.
The initial incident happened at around 10am on Friday, February 14, on Oldham Central Bee Network tram stop.
Officers would now like to speak to a key witness they have identified.
The man, pictured, is not a suspect in this investigation and at the time enquiries have uncovered he helped the 88-year-old woman after she got stuck in the tram doors when it was stationary.
She was sadly found dead a week later on Saturday, February 22.
Investigative Support Officer Aislinn Sweeney from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) said: “As our investigation continues, we are keeping an open mind into how this woman tragically passed away.
“It is unclear whether it will be connected to this incident, but following proactive patrols, CCTV trawls and active enquiries we have been unable to identify this man we believe has key information that could help us.
“I would like to make it clear he is not a suspect in this investigation and is not connected in any way to our investigation. We simply want to identify him as a witness to the initial incident to understand more.
“Anyone with additional detail that could help us is asked to call 0161 856 4741 direct or 101 quoting incident 461 of 22/02/2025. Alternatively, details can passed on anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
