Staff from the Northern Care Alliance have been recognised for the outstanding care they provide for patients and service users during a glittering awards ceremony.
More than 300 guests including finalists, colleagues and sponsors joined forces for the Northern Care Alliance Colleague Awards 2024 at The Sheridan on Oldham Road in Miles Platting.
On the night, many winners were announced, including the Service Experience Award which was presented to the Butler Green Enhanced Intermediate Care Unit, Oldham, the Leadership Award went to Melanie Brindle, Ward 12 Fairfield General Hospital and the Chief Executives Award was presented to Dr Hamish Hunter, Salford.
The evening was opened by Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust (NCA) Interim Chair Professor Dame Robina Shah and co-hosted by radio and TV broadcaster Natalie Pike.
This year, the team welcomed a well-loved plus one, Atlas the dog, a guest of Bury volunteer Tina Walton who scooped the Volunteer of the Year accolade.
Gertie Nic Philib, NCA Chief People and Strategy and People Officer said: “What an amazing night of celebration and recognition. All our finalists should be incredibly proud of making the shortlist.
“We had over 1,200 nominations and it was a tough decision to decide the shortlist and even harder to decide on the winner.
“Your stories are inspiring and humbling, with your hard work making such a difference to the care we give our patients and service users. It is also uplifting to hear how we support each other and look out for the well-being of our colleagues.
“Many congratulations to our winners who are role models for our values of Care, Appreciate and Inspire. This was my first NCA Colleague Awards and it was wonderful to share such a lovely evening with colleagues who are living our values every day."
