Treats for Pups Available At 11 Stations

Pups can hydrate as they travel.

To make travelling with pooches easier - TransPennine Express (TPE) is rolling out pup-friendly provisions for its customers.

With warmer weather now here, the train operator’s new dog water stations will be available across 11 of its stations to keep four-legged friends hydrated when they are on the go.

There will be bowls available at Manchester Airport, Hull, Selby, Brough, Scarborough, Malton, Thirsk, Northallerton, Thornaby, Middlesbrough, and Grimsby stations from tomorrow (Friday, April 11) to coincide with National Pet Day.

To celebrate treats will also be handed out to some lucky pups at these stations.

Andrew McClements, Customer Experience & Transformation Director at TPE, said: “Dogs are welcome on our services, and we want to provide the best journey possible for everyone and that very much includes our furry friends.

“We hope the introduction of dog bowls will make journeys even more pawsitive for them.”

“If your perfect travel companion has four legs rather than two, you’ll be pleased to hear that you can travel on board our trains with your pet – and their ticket is free of charge.”

TPE allows customers to bring up to two dogs onboard trains and they must be kept on a lead for the duration of the journey.

Pets should not sit on tables or seats for the comfort of other passengers.

Guide and hearing dogs are welcome on board too and staff will be happy to support you if you need assistance.
