Two teenagers have been charged as part of an investigation into the death of 25-year-old dad-to-be Charlie Elms, who was fatally stabbed in the Limeside area.
Frazer McDonald, 19, of Kilton Walk, Manchester, and a 17-year-old male who cannot be named for legal reasons have each been charged with one count of violent disorder.
They were both remanded into custody following a court appearance at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court on Monday (31 May).
They are next due to appear at Manchester Crown Court on Monday 28 June.
A 38-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder and a 35-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender were released under investigation.
Police were called shortly after 5.05pm on Wednesday (26 May) to a report of a disturbance involving a group of men causing damage to a property on Fifth Avenue.
Enquiries have since established a blue Vauxhall Corsa pulled onto the avenue and a group of around five men - armed with knives and machetes - got out of the car before damaging a property.
The gang subsequently fled, during which Charlie was stabbed and pronounced dead at the scene.
Charlie's girlfriend, who hasn't been named, paid tribute - in a statement released by police - to a "caring and loving person" who was "thrilled" to become a dad for the first time to his unborn son, Archie Charlie Elms.
