Uppermill Band launch unique fundraiser

Uppermill Band have launched a unique fundraiser guaranteed to take them up in the world.

Called ‘Uppermill Band vs Mount Snowdon,’ band members plan to generate donations on our GoFundMe page to walk Mount Snowdon and they are in desperate need of new stands, mutes and music. Valiant efforts have seen the band rebuilt after nearly collapsing during/after Covid.  They are now back with a full team and are trying to get our instruments and music back up to scratch. On the 20th April 2024, a group of band members will be climbing the 3,560ft to the top of the highest mountain in Wales. There aim is to raise £1000 for band funds which will go towards the cost of our coach for the 2024 Whit Friday Contests, fees for hiring concert venues and purchase of new music to increase our audience.  James Garlick the band’s musical director says: ”Our mission is to provide Uppermill with a Brass Band to be proud of within and outside the local community - you can help us make this a success by supporting our hike up Snowdon raising money to ensure your local brass band remains at the heart of the community. We have a wide and varied concert programme planned for 2024 which includes performing with Oasis Supernova, Concerts for the Whole Family, Last Night of the Proms and many more. This is on top of our usual calendar of local events/performances including: Yanks Weekend, Christmas Eve Carols in the Community, Whit Friday, Performing with St. Chads School Choir, Santa Dash and our Remembrance Service."                      “Thank you for your donations and make sure to keep an eye out on our Facebook Live Feed on the day!"
