Young boy in hospital after being hit by car in Oldham

A man was arrested after a young boy was taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Oldham.

Emergency services were called to Vulcan Street at around 6.30pm on Thursday (30 March) to reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a young boy, has been taken to hospital with serious injuries that are believed to be life threatening.

A man in his 40s was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving. He has since been released on bail.

Police are now appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have footage of the incident - including CCTV or dashcam - to get in touch.
