Bloods back to winning ways

BetVictor North West: Droylsden 3-1 Pickering Town

Droylsden claimed all three points against a lowly Pickering side but made heavy work of it at the Butchers Arms.

After dominating the first half, Steve Rigby’s header from a Danny Wilkins cross in added time broke the deadlock.

Earlier both Aaron Burns and Kane Hickman had chances to open the scoring, Harrison Foulkes saving well from the former while Hickman’s shot went inches wide while Danny Wilkins came close from a tight angle seeing his shot go across the face of the goal.

Pickering hit back two minutes after the resumption, Flynn McNorton firing home at the far post as the Droylsden defence switched off.

The Bloods struggled to get back into the game being forced into long range efforts as Jamie Frost came on for Rhys Clooney.

Rigby came close with a long range effort which just cleared the crossbar.

On 77 minutes Burns claimed his first goal of the season finding the bottom corner from Wilkins' square ball after a brilliant cross field ball from Hickman, and deep into injury time substitute Domaine Rouse slotted into an empty net after a mix up at the back.
