Bloods reach the final

Droylsden made it through to the final of the Macron Cup on Tuesday after an emphatic victory over Chadderton in the semi-final.

With the regular season coming to an end over the weekend, it was all eyes on the cup for Dave Pace’s side.

After a strong start, The Bloods took the lead on the half hour mark through Owen Whitehead and went into half time leading.

Hosts Chadderton then fought back and found an equaliser just after the hour mark through a penalty from Connor Hughes.

The Bloods then regained control of the tie ten minutes from time when two quick-fire goals put them 3-1 up, the first coming from Kyle Oakes and the second from Fuad Kasali.

Kasali then put the icing on the cake with just two minutes to go, scoring his second of the evening and putting his side 4-1 up.

The win completes what has been a fantastic first season back for Dave Pace’s men, who now have a cup final to look forward to as well as a play-off place.

After finishing fifth in the league, The Bloods have set up a play-off semi-final tie against second placed Stockport Town.

This will take place this Saturday, with the final of the Macron Cup expected to take place next month.
