World Speedway of Nations Champion Tom Brennan is on his way back to the National Speedway Stadium as Belle Vue’s Rising Star for the 2022 season.
The 20-year-old Swindonian made his full Premiership debut with the Aces last season and soon caught the attention of Team GB bosses for their international squad.
Brennan made headlines in October, along with former Belle Vue team mate Dan Bewley, as part of the Great Britain team to lift the Speedway of Nations title.
And he played an instrumental role in the Aces’ pursuit of the 2021 Premiership title against Peterborough, garnering plenty of support from the home faithful.
Director of Speedway Mark Lemon said: “Bringing Tom back to Belle Vue as our Rising Star was pretty much a no-brainer, and he was equally enthusiastic about coming back to us.
“In the short time he has been in our colours, he has proved himself an extremely capable rider who doesn’t think twice about getting stuck in.
“He is very thorough and professional, and has a fantastic attitude towards the rest of the team and we are very much looking forward to seeing what he can achieve in 2022.”
Meanwhile Brennan couldn’t hide his delight at the opportunity to return to Belle Vue in 2022 and believes he has much more to contribute to the team than ever.
As the club’s Rising Star last year, as well as Premiership debutant, he was keen to prove himself amongst the pros and quickly settled into life in the top flight.
Hi greatest triumph, as a World Speedway of Nations Champion at just 20 years old, consolidated his popularity in Manchester and supporters are delighted to see him back with the Aces.
On his return to the National Speedway Stadium, Brennan said: “I’m very happy to have the opportunity to come back to Belle Vue for the 2022 season.
“I learned so much from my time with the club last year. Everyone from the management to the lads I was on track with gave me a lot of help and encouragement.
“I was, admittedly, a little nervous about the National Speedway Stadium because it was so different to what I’m used to but towards the end of the year things really started to click.
“It’s amazing to see all the supporters commenting on Facebook that they wanted to see me back at the club and that is a big relief for me, to be honest!
“The Belle Vue fans have been very welcoming to me. It’s always nice to get along with the fans and to have their backing is very important.
“I want to prove that the faith everyone has in me hasn’t been misplaced, and I would love to prove myself capable by moving out of reserve and into the main body of the team next season.
“I made a lot of progress in 2021. I want to be a more well-rounded rider and I feel I’m ready to challenge for one of the spots in the main 1-5.”
Stay tuned to the club’s official website and social media channels as we continue to ramp up the excitement for 2022 with further announcements and updates in due course.
