Celtic on the hunt for media assistant

Stalybridge Celtic are looking to expand their Media and Communications department and are searching for a Media Assistant to join the club on a voluntary basis to primarily work on developing and managing the media output for Stalybridge Celtic Ladies.

This is a new role that they are creating with the opportunity for someone enthusiastic and passionate about sports journalism to really make the role their own.

Working with Celtic's Club Secretary, Media Officer, Press Officer and Web Manager, you will have the opportunity to be creative with Celtic Ladies social channels as we seek to develop our media and communications output.

The Media Assistant role will suit someone that has an understanding of different social media platforms, including Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. It would be best suited to a student that is looking to gain experience at a non-league football club and develop a portfolio of work for a future career in the media industry.

What the role may entail:

  • Managing and updating the Ladies social media accounts
  • Writing a match report after each fixture
  • Creating content for social media including graphics and social media posts
  • Interviewing Celtic Ladies Manager and player post match
  • Creating and editing audio and video content

The role is a voluntary position however is flexible, in that the Media Assistant should only take on tasks when they have the time to do so and will not be expected to complete all of the above tasks.

Ideally, the Media Assistant would need to be present on a matchday which is usually every Sunday.

Celtic Ladies were formed in the summer of 2019 and currently compete in the Cheshire Women’s and Youth Football League.

If you are interested in joining the club or have any questions about the role, please email Celtic's Media Officer Taran Dhamrait at taran@stalybridgeceltic.co.uk.
