Chadderton Out Of FA Vase

FA Vase first round: Chadderton 1-3 Guisborough Town

Chadderton bowed out of the FA Vase last weekend as they lost 3-1 to Guisborough Town at the ARK Fleetech Stadium.

The match started with Guisborough applying the pressure with a number of chances in the opening ten minutes. And their pressure paid off after 11th minutes with Sonni Coleman slotting home to put Guisborough 1-0 up with a smart finish.

Soon after Chadderton came into the game as Daniel McLaughlin tried his luck with a half volley which was saved well by Guisborough stopper Jaan Yaqub. Then Chadderton went close again as defender James Dwyer rattled the crossbar with a header from a corner.

In the 43rd minute, Chadderton were level as they were awarded a penalty which was dispatched expertly by Jack Turnbull to send the hosts in level at half time.

Shortly into the second half, Guisborough reclaimed the lead as Coleman was played through and he finished confidently underneath the goalkeeper.

From then both teams battled for possession with no real chances being created until the final moments with Reece Lyndon dragging an effort just wide.

In the 98th minute, Guisborough sealed the victory as Matthew Crust headed in from a corner which confirmed Chadderton’s exit from the FA Trophy.
